What we collect

We may collect the following information:

  • contact information including email address and phone number

  • demographic information such as postcode

  • other information relevant to providing you with further information about our products and services.

  • payment information.

 

What we do with the information we gather:

We require this information to understand your needs and provide you with a better service, and in particular, for the following reasons:

  • internal record keeping

  • payment for services (in strict accordance with our legal responsibilities governing the use of credit card machines)

  • to improve our products and services

  • to periodically send promotional emails about new products or events that we think you may find interesting, using the email address which you have provided and the permission you have given for us to do so.

 

How long we hold your data for:

  • we do not hold any information on customer payment details after the date that the customer visits the shop or concludes their transaction with us.  After your transaction with us is complete, we shred any information including credit card information.

  • we hold information on customer names and email addresses indefinitely but only for the express purposes that it has been agreed.  For example, if you have asked to go on our database for receiving information about workshops or events or for other services we have asked if you would like details about, the information will be held until you ask us to remove it.  If we have this information for any other reason, it will be destroyed directly after the specific purpose for which it was collected.

 

Security

We are committed to ensuring that your information is secure.  In order to prevent unauthorised access or disclosure, we have put in place effective management, physical and  electronic procedures to safeguard and secure the information we collect online.

Our website may at times, contain links to other websites and apps of interest. However, once you have used these links to leave our site, you should note that we do not have any control over that other website or app. Therefore, we cannot be responsible for the protection and privacy of any information which you provide whilst visiting such sites and apps and such sites and apps are not governed by this privacy statement. You should exercise caution and look at the privacy statement applicable to the website or app in question.

Children (defined by us as under 18)

  • we will only keep any information that we hold on any person under the age of 18, until the reason for holding this data has passed.  For example, if we have information on a child such as their age for a birthday party, we will not hold onto it after the party has taken place.

  • our only exception to this is where we hold information such as our under 18 disclaimer or for our clubs, such as art club.  We will continue to hold this information unless you ask us for it to be destroyed.  Any data held on children is kept securely.

We will not sell, distribute or lease your personal information to any third party at any time.

You may request details of personal information which we hold about you under new data protection laws coming into effect in May 2018.  We will not charge you for the administration of this request.  If you would like to see the data held on you please write to The Data Protection Officer, Mrs Potts’ Place, 18 Obelisk Way, Camberley, Surrey GU15 3SD.
