Paint Your Own Pottery Parties at Mrs Potts’ Place

Terms & Conditions 2020



  • Please try and book your event several weeks in advance so we can try and accommodate your required date and time. Your booking is confirmed when we have received a £50 deposit.  Final payment and numbers are due 14 days before. 

  • Minimum of 8 people required and up to 12 maximum. For larger parties please see our private bookings package. 

  • All guests must be a minimum of 6 years old.  Siblings of the birthday child under the age of 6 must be accompanied by an adult and all times.  

  • Parties run for a total of 1 hour 45mins.  This includes  30 minutes if you would like to provide food.  If you are providing food, please can you bring it in a pre-packed party snack box or bag per child and ensure they are all 'made up' before you arrive. We don’t have the space for food preparation and it also means any child who doesn’t finish eating can take it home with them. Could any party bags etc also be pre-packed at home as we do not have the space for you to construct them or add bits in the shop. If providing a cake, please bring matches, candles and a knife too. If you are planning to leave the shop to get McDonalds or similar, ANOTHER adult must be present at ALL times with your guests. This does NOT included a member of staff from Mrs Potts’ Place. 

  • Please bring a knife and candles for the cake.  Please DO NOT bring any sparkler/fountain candles due to health and safety regulations. 

  • Please ensure you have all the correct, up to date contact numbers of parents/guardians of your guests beforehand, in case a child falls ill during the party or needs to go home. We DON’T encourage all parents to stay as the party runs smoother without lots of parents.  There are plenty of coffee shops and shops in the area to visit and parents generally like the opportunity to have a break.  

  • A Creative Leader will be assigned to you and the tables will be set up prior to your guests arrival. We recommend asking guests to arrive at least 10 minutes  before the start time as the event will begin promptly at the agreed start time. 

  • We provide bottomless jugs of squash and tea/coffee for up to 4 adults.

  • Parking is free behind the back of the shop in Service Area 2 on Sundays and after 6pm weekdays. You can drop off any food etc prior to the event at the back of the shop and there is a doorbell you can ring.  You may want to tell your guests that we are also happy for children to be dropped off or picked up at the back door in Service Area 2 to save time parking or if running late.  However, there are traffic wardens about and this area is only for loading or unloading.  We take no responsibility for vehicles left outside the rear of the shop.



  • Your booking is confirmed when we have received a £50 deposit and your party booking form.  Your deposit is confirmation that you agree to the Terms and Conditions. Please note that upon confirmation you are responsible for payment of the full event cost, subject to the cancellation or postponement charges and conditions outlined.

  • We ask the final payment is paid 14 days before the party date with the EXACT number of guests.  We suggest if you don’t know the exact number 14 days before, you pay for the maximum you require, as we are often unable to ‘add’ people on the day, due to how busy the studio is and the organisation involved. We take cash, credit card payments or  internet banking: Sort code 30-64-37  Account Number 59512068.

  • Please phone or email us if you would like to make any alterations to your confirmed booking.  Alterations will only be valid if agreed by us by email.

  • We aim to ensure that all event descriptions are accurate and we will notify you of any changes before you confirm your booking.  We reserve the right to alter or withdraw any party or services.   In the unlikely event that the party has to be cancelled, we will inform you of the cancellation and make all reasonable attempts to find a suitable alternative date.  Should a suitable alternative date not be found, we agree to refund your deposit, plus any other fees already paid.  If an alternative date is agreed there will be no refund given to you of the booking deposit already paid.

  • We also reserve the right to cancel the party at any time, including on the day , should false or incorrect information be given to us, that may impact the running of the party or our other customers. Our cancellation terms will apply in this situation. 

  • All prices are subject to change at any time with the exception of confirmed bookings.

  • We must receive written notification if you wish to postpone or cancel your event. We reserve the right to make a cancellation charge as specified below.



  • The host/parent is responsible at all times for the general supervision of guests under the age of 18 within our venue and for ensuring that under 18s leave the venue with their own parent or guardian or nominated guardian. 

  • Guests must all be over the age of 6 years. Siblings under the age of 6 yrs must be accompanied by an adult at all times.  

  • Our responsibility is strictly limited to the supervision of event activities provided by us. The host/parent is responsible for behaviour.  We reserve the right to stop/cancel the party at any time, should behaviour of guests impact the running of the party or our other customers. No refund will be given.  

  • All breakages must be paid for.



  • Pottery will be  individually wrapped and named ready for collection.  Please collect your pottery after 7 days from the date of the event, unless otherwise specified. We don't phone you to say it is ready, just come and collect it.    Pottery is held up to 12 weeks and you will be phoned after approximately 4 weeks if not collected. Pottery is disposed of, if not collected within 12 weeks.   



  • We must receive written notification if you wish to postpone or cancel your event. The following charges apply. We also reserve the right to cancel the party, in situations, as describes above. 


    More than 4 weeks before the event - £10 admin fee charged = £40 refund.

    4-2 weeks before event - no refund of deposit.  Refund only of any other monies               paid.

    Less than 14 days - no monies refunded.

  • The above charges are immediately payable to us.

  • Please note we are unable to provide any refund for bad weather or illness of the party child/guest.

  • No refunds are given to guest that don't attend on the day.  



  • Mrs Potts’ Place and the staff shall not have any liability to the client for any loss, damage, costs or expenses which the client suffers or incurs arising out of the event unless arising out of gross negligence or wilful misconduct by its staff and or its suppliers. Health and  safety instructions will be read out to the guests, however, Mrs Potts’ Place and the staff are not liable for any guest failing to follow the instructions.

  • The client undertakes to indemnify and keep indemnified, Mrs Potts’ Place and the staff in respect of any damage to property or any other loss of any nature whatsoever, that Mrs Potts’ Place and the staff may suffer as a result of any act or omission of the client or its guests at the event.

  • Mrs Potts’ Place and the staff will not be liable to the client for any loss (whether direct or indirect) of profits, business or anticipated savings or for any indirect or consequential loss whatsoever, even if Mrs Potts’ Place shall have been advised as to the possibility thereof, other than in respect of death or injury to persons arising from our negligence. Mrs Potts’ Place liability to the client arising by or in connection with this agreement shall in any event, be limited to the estimated or final booking value.

  • Mrs Potts’ Place and the staff do not accept any liability and shall not be liable for non completion of the event or for any delays arising as a result of:

    1) Bad weather.

    2) Loss, damage or cancellation due to fire, floods or any other cause beyond its             reasonable control.

    3) Any public events or civil unrest or the like which causes disruption of any kind to 

        the event hosted by Mrs Potts’ Place .



  • Please address any complaints to our Company Directors, Rachel Morrison or Glenn Morrison. Any complaint must be put in writing.  However if you report any problems  during your party we will endeavour to resolve them immediately.

  • All staff at Mrs Potts’ Place have full public and employee liability insurance.



  • We like to keep our clients informed by email about activities and events and by supplying your email address, you confirm that you have no objection to us sending you the occasional newsletter and other information that may be of interest to you.  We will keep your data stored in accordance with the new privacy laws and will not pass your details to any 3rd parties.
